Process Coordinator

Dr. Allen joined the Park Hill School District in 2019 as a Process Coordinator in the Special
Services Department. In this role, she has provided comprehensive guidance on special
education processes and compliance across multiple elementary schools.

Prior to her work in Park Hill, Dr. Allen served as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker within an
outpatient community mental health center in St. Joseph, Mo. There, she provided
cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and family therapy to children,
adolescents, adults, and families. She also supervised a team of school-based community
support workers, providing administrative and clinical oversight and mentoring.

Dr. Allen transitioned to the field of special education in 2008, working as a special
education teacher in a variety of settings within the St. Joseph School District. Her
experience spans separate public day school, cross-categorical classrooms, and resource
settings throughout the St. Joseph School District. She later accepted the role of Process
Consultant, where she delivered procedural and compliance support for a diverse array of
schools. Additionally, she served as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative and
liaison for all private and parochial schools within the district’s boundaries.

Dr. Allen is deeply committed to lifelong learning and is especially proud of her
collaborative approach to team building—focusing on supporting the needs of students, as
well as the professionals who serve them.

Dr. Allen holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the
University of Missouri, an Educational Specialist Degree in Elementary Principalship from
Northwest Missouri State University, a Master’s Degree in Special Education from
Northwest Missouri State University, a Master’s Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in
clinical mental health from the University of Kansas, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social
Work from Missouri Western State University.
